Thuja Plant. Plant them somewhere they get plenty of sunlight. They make excellent garden plants.
However, most horticultural nurseries and retail outlets continue to use the older designation. Some of its varieties can reach up to 200 feet tall in favorable climate. Sizes range from dwarf cultivars to large trees.
Thuja Occidentalis Plant. Prefer fertile loamy soil, but grow quite well in poor sandy loam (to be feeding). Type species thuja occidentalis l.
This plant will provide nectar and pollen for bees and the many other types of pollinating insects. Prepare the planting area by digging a trench about two times the width of the plant’s clod. Use a garden trowel to fill the hole with soil, while keeping the thuja vertical.
